Spiders and Snakes and Dogs, OH MY!

I've read them, I've viewed photos on them, I've commented on them, and now I have one! Oh, happy day! I have a blog! Dear friends and family, Andrea is now a blogger! What joy in typing that! And what joy that you are reading these words. This is my very first posting! I'm typing these words with tales and twinkles from Taiwan (had to get the blog title in there) from my little rooftop apartment. The Taipei 101 reaches to the stars across the river from my bedroom window. Wait a minute, you can't really see the stars in Taipei, but I do know that they are shining up there somewhere. Just like all of you are "somewhere out there beneath the clear blue sky..." Typing my first blog entry has turned into somewhat of a musical! "someone's thinking of you, and loving you tonight". I did have a day of opening my eyes to see the blessings of relationships around me. Sometimes you are hit over the head with the blessings that God has given you in the people that get to work with, joy with, and grow with each new day! A blog is just all about sharing what is on your heart, eh? Oh, Canada Day is on July 1st.

My dear hiking club called JAR (Jessie, Andrea, and Rachel) hiked to the night market tonight. It was quite the event. We hiked the trail that we hike together close to 5 times a week. But, tonight we took a trail that veered off closer to our tastebud fantasy, aka the night market, destination than our usual journey down. Taking the road less traveled on provided some additional adventures. Jessie was leading. She saw a huge spider! She shrieked! We shrieked. We were all thankful that it wasn't a snake. But then......Jessie saw a snake! The same shrieking pattern filled the mountain silence. Once we were off the path Jessie described the snake and it turned out to be what she estimated to be a 12 foot snake! Then 3 dogs tried to block our way off the path with their glaring growls. Taiwan mountain dogs are sometimes a force to be requined with. After yelling at the dog he decided to let us pass. But then I felt bad about yelling at the dog.

The night market filled our hunger. I had steamed bread buns filled with cabbage, peach yogurt, and a taro filled mini pancake. Soo good! The night market is always a great place to find mobs of people and the coolest T-shirts!

Here endeth Andrea's first blog entry :-)
